About the presenter
Susan is a UK-based, experienced dog trainer and behaviourist who specialises in working with sighthounds, especially ex-racing greyhounds. Currently, she works for Dogs Trust as a Clinical Animal Behaviourist, providing behaviour consultations to adopters of Dogs Trust dogs who require more specialist input for behaviour issues. Previously, she was the Behaviour and Welfare Manager for UK sighthound charity, Forever Hounds Trust, where she was actively involved in developing kennelling and welfare strategy, as well as managing the behaviour and training function. Susan has also worked with other rescue dog and greyhound charities, including the Greyhound Trust. She also ran a successful behaviour and training business for eight years, providing behaviour consults, training classes and workshops. Susan is a member of APDT, UK, PPG, and a registered Animal Training Instructor with ABTC. She has a BSc (Hons) in Canine Behaviour and Training and her dissertation research focused on “Impulsivity in retired racing greyhounds (Canis familiaris): Is racing status an indicator of increased impulsivity?” Susan is a regular speaker at conferences and workshops and has presented at national and international conferences about greyhound behaviour and welfare, post-racing. She shares her home with her husband, Sean, their three dogs, Ava (Greyhound), Sherlock (Saluki), and Dobby (Saluki x Greyhound), and Matilda, their cat.
